Lesson Style & Approach
I take an idiosyncratic approach to my students, adapting my style and approach to fit their needs. I work well with most students, though I tend to prefer students over the age of 7 as they can think more abstractly. I like providing an introductory lesson, then I decide on a lesson plan moving forward if there is a good fit.
Methodology
For beginners, I use Suzuki books and Essential Elements. For intermediate and advanced students, I use a combination of Suzuki and technical books like Schradieck and Hrimaly to improve skill and technique. I have experience preparing students for music exams including ABRSM and Certificate of Merit, as well as for school, youth orchestra, and musical auditions.
