About Johan

Johan is a music teacher, performing artist, and entrepreneur living in Northern California.

Johan began playing music at the age of 5 and achieved early success in his career when he became the concertmaster of Foothill High School as a sophomore. As a student, he was also a member of the Oakland Youth Orchestra, winning second place twice in their concerto competition and playing with them in Costa Rica and at the prestigious Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. He served as concertmaster of the Livermore-Pleasanton Youth Outreach Symphony while a senior in high school.

Johan attended Northwestern University as an undergraduate, where he studied the violin with violin pedagogue Almita Vamos and graduated with a degree in Sociology and Asian American Studies. He was involved on campus, writing for campus magazines and participating in student organizations including Asian Pacific American Coalition. His senior thesis was received with distinction by the Sociology Department and awarded “Distinguished Essay” by the Asian American Studies Department.
Since graduating, Johan has continued to pursue and explore his talents in music and the arts. He is a passionate musician and artist whose performances have touched many peoples’ lives around the world. He is also passionate about creative businesses, psychology and self-growth, reading in his free time and thinking of ideas to build around. When he’s not busy working, you can catch him playing games, working out, or writing on his blog.

Johan loves connecting with new people. If you are interested in connecting or collaborating, please send him a message and share a little about yourself. He is happy to chat with open-minded people, especially those who are interested in entrepreneurship.
