About

Johan is a writer, musician and artist living in Northern California.

Johan Qin began playing music at the age of 5 years old and achieved early success in his career as the concertmaster of Foothill High School. As a student, he was accepted into the Oakland Youth Orchestra, where he won second place twice in their annual concerto competition and performed with them on tour in Costa Rica and at the prestigious Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. He also served as the concertmaster of the Livermore-Pleasanton Youth Outreach Symphony as a senior in high school.

Johan attended Northwestern University, where he studied the violin briefly with famed pedagogue Almita Vamos. As a student, he was involved on campus, writing for campus magazines and participating in Asian American organizations. He graduated in 2016 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Asian American Studies, and his senior thesis was received with distinction by the Sociology Department and awarded by the Asian American Studies Department.
Since graduating, Johan has explored his talents and interest in the world of writing, music and art. He finds purpose creating work that touches others deeply and enjoys sharing his knowledge so others can live the life they want. He has gained professional experience as a writer, coach, critic and teacher and loves finding ways to help others improve themselves. In his free time, he plays chess, works out, and thinks of new, creative ideas.

Please send Johan a message if you want to connect with him. He loves meeting new people, especially people who are open-minded and interested in business, and is always down for interesting conversations over food or boba.
